hl7online.com is operated by VimByte LLC, a Kansas LLC. By creating an account or using the AI features, you agree to these terms. Parsing HL7 messages without an account requires no agreement — it runs entirely in your browser.

What this tool is

hl7online.com is an informational tool that parses HL7 v2.x messages and provides AI-assisted answers about message content. It is designed for healthcare integration analysts, lab managers, and IT professionals who work with HL7 interfaces.

What this tool is NOT

Not a medical device. hl7online.com does not diagnose, treat, or make clinical decisions. It parses and explains data formats.
Not a substitute for professional judgment. AI responses may contain errors. Always verify critical information against HL7 specifications and your organization's interface documentation.
Not HIPAA-certified infrastructure. While HL7 messages are parsed client-side (never sent to our servers), AI queries do transmit parsed data to our backend. Use the "Anonymize PHI" toggle before asking AI questions about messages containing real patient data.

AI disclaimer

The AI feature uses a small language model running on local hardware. AI responses are best-effort interpretations, not authoritative HL7 specification references. The AI may:

Misidentify field contents or segment purposes
Give incomplete answers about complex message structures
Occasionally produce incorrect information

Do not rely on AI responses for production interface decisions. Always cross-reference with the HL7 v2.x standard or your integration engine's documentation.

Your account

You must provide a valid email address to create an account
You are responsible for keeping your password secure
One account per person — do not share credentials
We may suspend or ban accounts that abuse the service (excessive automated requests, attempts to bypass rate limits, or disruptive behavior)

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Attempt to bypass rate limits or authentication
Use automated tools to scrape or overload the AI endpoint
Attempt to extract the AI model, reverse-engineer the backend, or probe for vulnerabilities without authorization
Use the service for any purpose that violates applicable law

Rate limits and availability

hl7online.com runs on self-hosted hardware with finite resources. Free accounts have daily AI query limits. We reserve the right to adjust limits, add queuing, or temporarily restrict access to maintain service quality for all users. We do not guarantee uptime.

Intellectual property

hl7online.com is owned by VimByte LLC. The HL7 messages you paste belong to you (or your organization). We claim no ownership of your data. Parsed results and AI responses are provided for your use — we do not restrict how you use the output.

Limitation of liability

hl7online.com is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. VimByte LLC is not liable for any damages arising from your use of this tool, including but not limited to: incorrect AI responses, service downtime, data loss, or decisions made based on parsed output. Use at your own risk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via the email address associated with your account. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
